Sean Neukom, born and raised in North Dakota, received his Bachelor of Arts degree in violin performance from Minot State University under the tutelage of Dr. Jon Rumney and his Master of Music degree in violin performance from the Cleveland Institute of Music under the instruction of David Updegraff. As a performer, Mr. Neukom has recitaled extensively throughout the United States, performed with orchestras including the Nashville Symphony Orchestra and the Southern Sinfonia of New Zealand and was featured by the Cleveland Milhaud Society as a founding member of the Milhaud Piano Trio.
As a composer, Mr. Neukom has been commissioned by groups including Freya, the MSU string ensemble, the Bismarck-Mandan Symphony Orchestra, the cello trio Break of Reality, the Florida New Music Ensemble, School of Athens, and the New York Summer Music Festival. Mr. Neukom’s works have been featured throughout New Zealand on the Western Art Music show. As an educator, Mr. Neukom has been on faculty at the New York Summer Music Festival, Dakota Chamber Music, and the St. Clair School of Music in New Zealand. Currently, Mr. Neukom resides in Pittsburgh where he is managing the Symbiotic Collusion project and company.
